This pattern works up quickly and is great for gifting or adding to your own winter wardrobe.

My hands get so cold when I am working on the computer during the winter, but it’s so hard to find a good way to keep them warm and not inhibit my typing. Enter wrist warmers. They’re perfect for covering most of your hands but they leave the fingers free to move.

Stitches

The squares used in the fingerless gloves are based on the Fountain Flower Squares. You can head over to that post if you’d like to learn more about the squares. The only difference is that the last round of these squares uses single crochet stitches instead of double crochet stitches.

The other stitches you’ll need to know are slip stitches, single crochet worked in the back loop only, and whip stitches or another preferred joining method.

Yarn

Well, I’ve found a new yarn to be in love with. Rios by Marlabrigo yarn is a dream to work with and it feels delightful on your skin. It’s a worsted-weight yarn that’s 100% Superwash Merino Wool.

I picked up this yarn at the Knit and Stitch Boutique last time I was in Florida and I’m so glad I did! The yarn shop was absolutely adorable and everyone was so friendly and helpful. It was a great little stop on our vacation plus I came home with some beautiful yarn.

You don’t have to use wool for this pattern, but you do want to pick a thinner worsted weight yarn that’s soft and comfortable. I made another set with some acrylic worsted weight I had in my stash that was thicker and I had to size down a hook to get the same fit.

Skill Level

The squares themselves are rated at an Intermediate Skill Level. They require more knowledge of stitches and stitch placements than an Easy pattern. Once you understand the pattern, they are super quick and easy to make though.

The rest of the stitches and techniques are simple so if you can work the squares, you shouldn’t have any problems with the rest of the wrist warmers.
