This adorable bunny was made to be a companion to the Kitty Cat Lovey. Don’t they look so cute together? I wanted to design some lovies that looked cute in a single color and were fairly simple overall and I am so happy with these two.
Stitches
The blanket part of the lovey is the part that requires the most advanced techniques. You’ll need to know half double crochets, double crochets, puff stitches, chains, and slip stitches. The blanket is worked in joined rounds that form a hexagon shape.
The head, ears, and arms use basic amigurumi techniques. Skills you’ll need for those parts are starting with a magic circle, single crochets, increases and decreases.
You’ll also want to know some basic amigurumi joining techniques to add the ears to the head and secure the arms and the blanket. How to Sew Closed Pieces video by Darling Maple Designs is one of my favorites for learning to sew on parts.

Yarn
I used Made with Love the Cottony One, a worsted-weight cotton acrylic blend. The yarn itself is soft and tightly plied making it easy to work with, especially for the body parts of this lovey.
Most other soft worsted weight yarns will work well for this pattern too and while Made with Love has 17 beautiful color choices, another yarn line might give you more options or be easier to match the color to a specific decor.

Skill Level
This definitely isn’t a beginner pattern and I wouldn’t necessarily call it easy either mostly because there are several different stitches and skills you need to know especially for the blanket part.
If you aren’t sure about trying it, and you know basic amigurumi skills, start with the blanket and see how it goes. Once you get the hang of the blanket rounds, they aren’t hard at all.

Assembly
Ears
Sew the ear directly across from each other spanning round 2 or wherever they look best to you.
Arms
Position the arms directly across from each other on the bottom of the head and in line with the ears. Sew the arms to the head.
Blanket
Attach the blanket to the head between the arms.
Facial Features
The facial features are created using basic straight embroidery stitches with either embroidery floss or yarn. To get thicker facial features, go over each section 2 or 3 times.
Nose and Mouth
Find the center most stitch, lined up with the ears, between Rounds 14 and 15. That will be the center of the nose/mouth where all the stitches meet.
From there work one stitch straight down to make the mouth line.
To work the V of the nose, work up one round and over one stitch in each direction. The V of the nose is positioned between rounds 13-14. (You may need to go over 1.5 stitches on one of the sides to make the V more centered.)
Eyes
From each side of the nose, start each eye two rounds up and two stitches over spanning 3 stitches. Create the eyelashes by working one round up and one stitch over from the end of eye, and then 1 round up and 2 stitches over.
