Stitches
All of that gorgeous texture in this dish towel is brought to you by the Suzette Stitch, which is a simple stitch combination that only uses single crochet stitches and double crochet stitches. If you haven’t worked the Suzette Stitch yet, don’t worry, there is a full Suzette Stitch tutorial for you, which will walk you through the stitch combination step-by-step with clear photos and instructions.

The stitch combination is made by working a single crochet and a double crochet into the same stitch, and then skipping a stitch. After you’ve worked your chain rows, the stitches you are skipping each time are the double crochets of the previous row, only working into the single crochets.
The Suzette Stitch naturally creates a wavy edging at the end of each row, which means you don’t need to add a border around the towel for it to look finished.

Yarn
For these kitchen towels, I used Dishie Yarn from WeCrochet/Knit Picks. It is one of my favorite cotton yarns because it is so soft and easy to work with. Dishie also comes in a variety of colors, and it is machine washable and dryable- just what you want in a kitchen towel.
Any worsted-weight, 100% Cotton Yarn should work great for this dish towel.

I found that putting 2 single crochets in the very last stitch of the very last row looked better than finishing the row with a single crochet and a double crochet in the last stitch.
Pattern Instructions:
ch 38 (start with an even number of chains)
Row 1: (sc, dc) in 2nd ch from hook, *skip ch, (sc, dc) in next ch, repeat from * to end of row, turn.
Row 2: ch 1, *skip dc, (sc, dc) in sc of the row below, repeat from * to the end of the row, turn.
Row 3-70: Repeat Row 2. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Striping Pattern: rows 1-14 in color A (Linen), rows 15-56 in color B (Swan), rows 57-70 in color A (Linen).
